The month of May was ushered in with World Wet Plate Day, and we here at the Santa Fe Workshops celebrated accordingly! Photographic technology is progressing in leaps and bounds, but historic photographic processes are not being left in the dust. One such process is wet plate collodion, and on world wet plate day, May 1st, a group of our workshop instructors collaborated in celebrating all things photographic. Dan Burkholder and Jill Skupin Burkholder, in town for their workshops on iPhone Artistry and Encaustic for Photographers, teamed up with local instructors and members of the Inaugural MFA Photo class to The Art Institute of Boston, David Hyams and Cotton Miller for a bbq & photo shoot. The results were lots of laughs, great food, fun and some one of a kind ambrotypes rendered on stained glass.
